Music: Exam Successes and an Exciting Term Ahead

Posted on: May 2nd 2013

Last term, as well as our success at the Bellevue Music Festival, Norfolk House put on an impressive Easter Concert, where pupils displayed great technique, confidence and talent through a range of disciplines. The audience was entertained by our school choir, our guitar ensemble, our recorder senior group and our soloists. Thanks to all the parents and family members who attend the music events and support Norfolk House’s musicians.

Summer term will be another exciting term for music, with the children exploring a range of composers, composition, musical elements and techniques during lessons, not to mention KS2’s rehearsals for their end of term musical which the children are throwing themselves into with heart and soul!

In addition, we will be introducing a small orchestra which will be by invitation only for our older instrumentalists to offer and extend opportunity for them to play as part of a group.

The House Music Competition is also coming up this term, which will give Forms 3-6 the opportunity to demonstrate their musical talents. Auditions will take place during the second half of the term and the final performance will be attended by KS2 pupils and parents.

Finally, Miss Grammeniati and Norfolk House would like to congratulate all the pupils who have attended music exams this year.
