Form 1 Start of Term Blog

We are two weeks into the new academic year and all the Form 1 children have settled well into their new classrooms. In such a short time we have seen a visible change in all our pupils as they have risen to the challenges of a new curriculum and new expectations. They are becoming more confident, independent and responsible learners; encouraged by their teachers to be risk-takers and tackle new challenges with a positive attitude. The Form 1 learners are taking greater responsibility for their learning, reflecting on what they have achieved and thinking of ways to further improve.

We asked the children about their experience now they are in Form 1 and here are some of the things they said:

"I really like swimming because I like to splash around in the pool." Poppy

"I love ice-skating and it is my first time to do it and it is fun."  Matilda

"I like Mrs. Jowett because she is a nice teacher." Sebastian

"I like Golden Time because you can make loom bands and things." Ava

"I like my music lessons because you get to choose your own song to bring to school." Alexa

"I like Maths because I really enjoy numbers and shapes!"  Zen

"I like writing because it makes me sweat and I like being sweaty!"  Bailey

"I like playing football because I want to be a footballer when I’m bigger."  Sam W.

"I like swimming because I am a good swimmer." William

"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." Benjamin Franklin.

We look forward to a fantastic year. What a great start, keep it up Form 1!
