Junior Prep Student Council Elections

Posted on: September 30th 2016

Student Council elections - the political talking point of recent times. Andrew Marr described it as: ‘the biggest decision our young people have faced since Brexit’. The UN inspectors were called to observe its free, fair and open delivery and, once satisfied, the results were announced.

Across Junior Prep, the children prepared speeches and delivered them to the electorate. ‘I am a kind and caring candidate, and open-minded to what other people think’, explained Yash to a packed-out Form 2S rally. ‘If you vote for me, I will get you an electric toy car for the playground’, pledged Lola Thompson to the Form 3 Party Conference.

The votes were counted and, contrary to exit polls, the winners were announced.

The future looks bright for democracy in our country. We will observe with keen interest whether or not the new councillors truly deliver on their manifestos.
