Farewell from Mr Jowett

Posted on: July 8th 2022

I can’t quite believe the time has come for me to say farewell to Norfolk House. The last seven years have flown by, yet so much has happened. I can honestly say that I will have so many fond memories of my time as Head of Norfolk House and will miss being part of this unique school and community. From my very first day back in June 2015, through the pandemic and over the last relatively normal year, the sense of community has been palpable.

Working with the children as they move through our school towards the 11+ creates a unique opportunity for children, parents and teachers to work towards a common goal. This creates such a strong bond and personal connection that we receive a high number of visits from alumni going back many years wanting to relive their time at our special school.

Moving forward, I will certainly take some of the experiences and opportunities I have been afforded at Norfolk House to recreate some of this energy in my next school. With Awards Day next week, there will be plenty of opportunities to say farewell and thank you. For now, I would like to thank the children, staff and parents who have made Dina’s and my time so special and memorable and for welcoming us so warmly into your community.
