At Norfolk House, we are very proud of the quality of pupils’ achievements, both academic and within their personal development. The excellent outcomes children achieve across a broad curriculum is driven by a consistent expectation of high standards from highly trained teachers. As a school, and indeed as part of Bellevue Education, we believe investment in our staff is pivotal in achieving the best outcomes for children. A robust professional development programme supports teachers in developing excellent teaching skills and also allows teachers to specialise in an area for which they are passionate and have an in-depth subject knowledge.
This flexibility in provision is something that attracts both families and teachers to Norfolk House. Pupils benefit from teachers who are experts in their field, regardless of whether their original training was subject specific; whilst teachers get to focus on a subject they enjoy and wish to develop further. The benefits of specialist teachers and staff who are given the flexibility to follow their interests are apparent across the school from Forest School and Computing, to Sport and Music to name a few.
The enthusiasm of our teachers for their subject area is contagious. This is reflected in the range of clubs and volume of events that we offer; for a small school, this is staggering. Each year the leadership team are challenged with accommodating the drive of all these teachers and supporting them in providing the best opportunities for children to engage and become passionate about their learning. It’s definitely a good problem to have!
I would like to thank all the teachers at Norfolk house whose dedication, effort and love of teaching provide the children with an outstanding experience.
