With the end of the school year upon us I would like to reflect on the past year before beginning the new one in a few weeks time. We have enjoyed a lot of success and met many of our aims through the collaboration between staff, parents and teachers; Mr. Charman’s story this week is a clear example of this. Our Form 1 - 6 Sports Day was the best so far and the support from FoNH by providing a coffee van and ice cream van made the day even more enjoyable. The school productions and performances have continued to raise the bar in terms of quality and inclusion.
Significant developments in our EYFS provision led by Mrs. Enisuoh have helped us recognise our aim of becoming a through school and we look forward to further exciting developments over the coming terms. The collaboration between the different age groups within the EYFS has meant that the teachers can get behind one vision of early years education and support the greater number of children moving up through the school.
In March we had an outstanding Bellevue Learning Review which celebrated the excellent teaching and learning that happens across the school on a daily basis and also helped us identify some areas to focus on going forward. The feedback also highlighted the commitment and dedication our staff have towards creating learning opportunities and building strong relationships with pupils. Also celebrated was the support of our wonderful parent community.
I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all the staff for going above and beyond, to the parents for their ongoing support and the children for their enthusiasm and engagement.
Unfortunately, at this time of year we also have to say goodbye to members of our school community. To all the Form 6 children, I wish you all the best in your next school and this milestone in your life. To any children leaving Norfolk House from Nursery to Form 5 good luck in your new schools.
This year we have a few staff members leaving. Firstly, after almost 8 years we are saying farewell to Jaye Cannon who has had a huge impact on many children throughout her time with us. Jaye’s relentless positivity, commitment to developing science and teaching excellence will be sorely missed.
Also we are saying goodbye to Deepika Ghosh who has been a Montessori Directress in the nursery for the last 6 years. Many of the children in the upper year levels remember their time with her fondly and her commitment and dedication has helped scores of children take their first steps in education. Emma Howden, also a Montessori Directress at our school for the last 3 years, will be leaving and is a much loved member of the nursery team. She has supported staff in developing their assessment and also helped many children settle into their first experience of school. Finally from the nursery, Jessica Ng our TA of 2 years will be leaving. Her warmth and kindness has been appreciated by many families leaving their children for the first time.
We wish them all the best in their future careers.
To all our families, on behalf of the staff at Norfolk House, I would like to wish you all a happy, relaxing and enjoyable holiday; and for those returning, we look forward to seeing you on 4th September.
