Mr Jowett's Blog: A fantastic start!

Posted on: September 25th 2017

As we enter our fourth week of the academic year, school is in full swing and there is a tangible positive energy in the classes. On the gate last week it was great to see our new Reception children confidently leaving mum and dad and happily joining their new friends in class. The older children, especially Form 6 who are now in the exam period, have come back from the holiday with a renewed focus and drive, making this a truly fantastic start to the year.

In the term ahead we have an exciting calendar of events with increasing opportunities for children to represent their school in both music and sport. Our girls football team played their first match of the season last Friday and we look forward to many more football and rugby fixtures. We have record numbers of children joining the school choirs and we can’t wait to see them perform at our first music event of the year, the annual Harvest Festival, which is coming up in a few weeks.

We have a great deal to look forward to this year and I am confident that with the expertise and dedication of the team at Norfolk House we will continue to see further improvements in the opportunities we provide for the academic achievement and personal development of all our pupils. The driving force behind the planned initiatives and improvements is the desire of everyone at Norfolk House to ensure that all children experience success both in and out of the classroom. I look forward to seeing the children at Norfolk House continue to enjoy their learning and wish them all the very best in the coming year.
