Nurturing Talent at Norfolk House

Posted on: March 18th 2016

What a spectacular way to end another successful term, with our inaugural Junior Prep performance, followed by our talented singers and musicians in our traditional Easter Concert this afternoon!

I was delighted to watch all the hard work of our children come together with such finesse (and comedy timing!) and to see how much they enjoyed performing what they had rehearsed and learned. Junior Prep’s original take on an Easter style story was a great start to the afternoon - the confidence the children showed in delivering their lines and their punchlines, as well as their enthusiastic dancing had us all happily entertained and proud of their hard work; I shall certainly be taking some of those jokes into my repertoire!

As for our musicians and singers, I was in raptures and lost in the beauty of the music as well in admiration for their discipline and skill they showed; the time it takes to learn those pieces is incredible and once again the confidence with which they perform is inspiring.

I sat proudly today as yet again, the quality surpassed the previous year. I can see that talent is being nurtured across the curriculum at Norfolk House, not simply narrowly and academically but wholly in our children in all their talents and skills.

I hope that you all enjoyed it as much as I did today and some of those lyrics and performances will pop into your head over the holidays, and be fondly remembered - I know that Moon River and My Favourite Things will be!

Wishing you all a lovely Easter break,

Sam Habgood
