As we enter the final week of the Autumn Term I find myself thinking “where did the weeks go?” Then I read the newsletter and realise that this term has flown by because the teachers across the school have been working at a dizzying pace putting on events, celebrations of learning and organising trips on top of the day-to-day outstanding educational experience they provide for pupils.
Time seems to have moved quickly for the children too with our pupils new to school settling quickly into Nursery and Reception. This is evident at the school gate where they separate easily from their parents and bound happily into school. The Form 1 children have quickly settled into a more formal curriculum, our new Form 2 children have transitioned well into a new building and the Form 4s have adapted to the longer school day. The Form 6 children have begun their 11+ exam process and have been preparing for the academic challenge of the exams and honing their interview technique in order to help them transition to a range of outstanding senior schools. With some pupils sitting Highgate exams before the end of term and some preparing for them the first week back, we wish them all the best and hope they, and all the other children, come back after the Christmas break feeling refreshed and re-energised.
It has been a fantastic term with events, celebrations, fixtures and performances on every week and I would like to thank all the staff for their hard work and enthusiasm and look forward to an equally action-packed Spring Term.
