My name is Seth Lau and I joined Norfolk House School in Reception and left in Form 6 in 2012. After Norfolk house, I went to Belmont/Mill Hill and have been there for around two years.
When I first started at Belmont it was quite scary as it was a big new school for me, but exhilarating and exciting. The pupils there helped me so much and made me feel welcome and I soon made many friends.
The school building was very big in comparison to Norfolk House, which was less stressful with its familiar space. In Belmont I often got lost in my first term! When you go into an upper school you have to be more independent - looking after your kitbag or finding out where your next class is, but after a week of this I slowly became used to the curriculum. The work is similar to Norfolk House and in some cases it was easier in Year 7 in Belmont than in Year 6 in Norfolk House. Norfolk House really prepared me for the 11+ exams and academically in Belmont.
The sporting activities were a big step up for me and I became fitter and stronger playing rugby, football and cricket. My first school trip was skiing in Vermont in my first term at Belmont. I made many good friends and really improved my skiing. My biggest achievements in my new school so far are being presented the ‘Best Forward’ shield for the 1st IV in rugby, 3rd place on sports day in the 100m sprint and being invited to sit for the Mill Hill Design Technology scholarship award.
I really enjoyed my years in Norfolk House and I am sure that most former pupils also agree that the school gave us a lot of skills and opportunities ready for the future.
