On Monday, Norfolk House were visited by children’s author Alexander Martin. He spent time with children in Form 2 to 5 giving tips and advice in a series of writing workshops. The children had the opportunity to develop their descriptive writing skills as they created their own characters using word banks to extend their vocabulary.
The highlight of his visit was the Senior Prep assembly. He announced that several children from Norfolk House had received credits in the front of his latest book - Stanley Smartpants and the Disappearing Diamonds. Sam S (F4) sent him a joke that was included in the story and three children, Emily FC (F5), Benedict (F4) and Amelie (now at secondary school) won a colouring competition to design one of Stanley’s outfits which was then described in the story. Alexander Martin then announced that one lucky pupil’s design was so good, he had decided to use it for the front cover of the book. Congratulations go to Form 4’s Alice for this very special accolade.

Two pupils from Form 5 were also extremely lucky to interview Alexander Martin. Watch the interview below.
