The 7-13th February proved to be another successful Children’s Mental Health Week. The children enjoyed talking about the topic ‘Growing Together’ where they were able to consider the ups and downs they may face as they grow.
At Norfolk House School and Nursery we believe it is very important that all children have the understanding that life is not always smooth sailing but that there are many ways to deal with situations. Over the course of the week, the children were able to talk about some of the challenges they face and consider who could help them if they needed support.
Across the school, children took part in assemblies and activities to support their growth and development, demonstrating a good understanding of emotions and the need to acknowledge feelings.
As part of our School Development Plan, we are continuing to shine a light on mental health and the importance of looking after it. This is being developed through our mindfulness programme with Tony Dallas, staff and our PSHE curriculum.
