Sports Update: Cross Country

It has been another busy couple of weeks for Cross Country, here at Norfolk House. On Friday 8th March we hosted our annual Norfolk House School Cross Country event at Aldenham school. We expanded the event this year with ten schools entering and after the disappointment of canceling our inter-house event due to rain we were very keen to run an exciting program.

Once again, our runners put in a very impressive set of performances with all four teams finishing in the top three and the Under 9 boys finishing 2nd. Emma P and Iselle R were particularly impressive finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Perhaps the highlight for some of the athletes was the incredible range of snacks and cakes that the Cross Country parents prepared! Thanks again to all the parents who supported the event and to Miss Patten for organising it.

Last Friday we had our last Cross Country event of the year - the highly competitive Hereward House event at Hampstead Heath. Just like last year, the heath was more like a bog with mud and puddles everywhere. Luckily, we didn’t lose any shoes this year, but we did end up with some very dirty children! Leonard S again proved what a loss he will be to our Cross Country team next year, by finishing 7th overall (out of 96 runners). George D and Max S really impressed by coming 20th and 21st, even though they were running against students two years ahead of them.
