Form 1 have settled well into their new classrooms

Posted on: October 2nd 2015

We are four weeks into the new academic year and all the Form 1 children have settled well into their new classrooms. In such a short time we have seen a visible change in all our students as they have risen to the challenges of a new curriculum and new expectations. They are becoming more confident, independent and responsible learners; encouraged by the their teachers to be risk-takers and tackle new challenges with a positive attitude. The Form 1 learners are taking greater responsibility for their learning, reflecting on what they have achieved and thinking of ways to further improve.

We asked the children about their experience now they are in Form 1 and here are some of the things they said:

"I really love my guitar lessons because they are really fun and I learn new guitar songs and activities." Aidan

"I enjoy Maths and learning about numbers. I want to learn how to count up to 100." Phoebe

"In my class, I am learning to share the I-pads and the books." Emily

"I like the Maths challenges that Mrs. Jowett gives us because they are fun and I learn new things everyday." Sasha

"I love Science and I enjoy learning about living things." Flores

"I am learning about the seaside in Geography." Emma

"I am learning lots and lots of new things in the class and I like working at the 'Super Star' table because I am a star!" Ted

"I like learning about partitioning numbers, in Maths, because it is a challenge and I did it! I am happy!" Rose

"What I like the best at school is play time because I play with my friends and play Football." George

"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." Benjamin Franklin.

We look forward to a fantastic year. What a great start, keep it up Form 1!
