On Thursday 24th November, Form 3 visited the Jewish Museum in Camden Town. The focus for the day was around “Illuminating Judaism” and “Festivals”. The children looked at different Menorahs and Hanukkiahs and thereafter had an opportunity to walk in the galleries to look at beautiful and unusual examples of objects.
The study of Hanukkah was our main event in the afternoon. The children made stained glass windows; they investigated the importance of light in Judaism and what it represents. They decorated candle holders and made havdallah candles. To end it all, they enjoyed doughnuts provided by the museum. We all had a great day and look forward to our next Form 3 doing the trip in 2012!
