Although online school is new and challenging, it has been an unexpectedly positive experience. All the children have been using Google Meet and online classes to still receive an excellent education. We’ve been able to maintain contact with our friends and teachers which is always a pro. Every morning at 9am, we jump on to Google Meet to have form time with our class and teacher like we would normally. The core subjects such as Maths and English are compulsory, however, the teachers will understand if you miss an afternoon activity as some are still settling in.
This virtual learning has definitely changed our opinions on school, and made us think how lucky we are to receive this education. Being at home has brought us closer to our families, and online school considerately makes time for that. Our afternoons are mostly centered around project work, which brings all our subjects like Geography, Art and History together in an enjoyable way. On most mornings, there is an exercise class provided, but you can do your own exercise if you want.
Covid-19 has definitely affected everybody in some way but we are all persevering and sticking together (on facetime, obviously). This will all be over soon but make sure you stay positive, healthy and inside.
A major thank you to the NHS and key workers for everything and stay safe!
