Form 6 have been practising their journalistic writing and the important components that make up a catchy and informative article.
The children have been writing newspaper front pages that record the events of the period of the First World War.
The newspapers included a catchy headline, often using alliteration; the informative details of the event, combining facts with short, snappy sentences to entice the reader in; and a few pictures and images to make the article visually appealing to the reader, as well as conveying further information through advertisements, for example.
See below one example from Cristina.
