I am delighted to now be a part of Norfolk House School, teaching Form 1. I believe that with each child's eagerness to learn and my commitment to meet their needs in the best way I can, combined with the support of parents, it is going to be a fantastic year.
I bring with me invaluable enthusiasm and over 16 years of experience as a primary school and English as an Additional Language teacher. I have taught in a variety of primary, secondary and independent schools, as well as in the adult education sector. I have been responsible for different subjects in the many schools I have worked in, including Gifted and Talented provision, Science and Art, to name a few.
I hold Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees (in the fields of English Language and Literature, and Teaching English respectively) and Teaching English as a Foreign Language.
I cultivate a ‘growth mindset’ - both personally and professionally, in my classroom. I embrace changes and perceive them as opportunities to learn new things and grow as a person. I think that change is an inseparable part of our lives and it is an important role of a teacher to prepare pupils for the changes and challenges that life might bring.
As a strong advocate of the growth mindset approach, I believe that intelligence, like a muscle, can be worked on. I am reinforcing this message with the children, helping them to understand that one's effort is more important than their ability.
I strongly believe that children’s safety and well-being are paramount to any other aspect of their school life. I am convinced that when a child feels safe and valued, their personality and skills will shine.
I am looking forward to working with pupils and parents, over the coming terms.
