Hello, my name is Paul Jowett and I am the new Head of School (formerly the Deputy Head role) at Norfolk House. I am absolutely delighted to join such an excellent team of professionals and intelligent, caring and enthusiastic children. This is the end of my first week at Norfolk House and last week I was working as Deputy Head in an international school in Cairo, where I had settled for the past 14 years. As you can imagine it has been hectic to transition countries and jobs over a weekend, but the children, staff and parents have made me feel incredibly welcome and it feels like I have been part of the Norfolk House community for longer than just 5 days.
Back in Cairo my wife Dina, a Year 1 teacher and Head of Key Stage 1, is finishing up the year and will be joining me here in London. Zeina, my daughter has just completed her IB Diploma and will start a MA in International Relations in St Andrews or Edinburgh University.
During my time in Cairo I was a Deputy Head for three years and Head for one year in the 400-strong international primary school. Prior to this I have held a number of positions such as Key Stage Head and Science Coordinator. I have taught all age groups from Year 1 to 6 in my 18 years as a primary teacher and I take pride in providing students with the best possible learning opportunities and the necessary challenge to help them to reach their full potential. My background is in science and mathematics and, as a leader, a main focus of mine has been on developing effective assessment.
I look forward to being of service to the students at Norfolk House School and becoming an important part of this wonderful community of learners.
