On Wednesday 8th of February the Senior Prep Girls Football Team took part in their first ever tournament.
The team was as follows: Daisy Dawes, Jessica Yam, Georgia North, Georgina Chan, Charlotte Seal, Leila Salem and Ava Rifat.
The games were seven a side matches and the girls were primed and ready for action. We lost our first match to Lyonhurst 1-0. Unfortunately Jessica was injured in the first game and could not participate in the rest of the matches.
Overall we played 10 matches, winning 4, drawing 1 and losing 5. The five we lost were all against the top five teams in the competition. During all of our matches we only had six players and the opposition had seven players. In true Norfolk House spirit we rolled our sleeves up and worked as a team.
In the final league table we finished seventh but Daisy received a commendation for player of the tournament due to the fact she had scored eleven goals overall. As you can see from the photographs the girls enjoyed the occasion and gave their all.
Many thanks to Mr Holt for transporting the girls and being a referee and to Mr Ashton for coaching the team as well as the parents who gave up their time to cheer on the girls. A huge thanks to the team who represented the school with pride and determination.
