Junior Prep Music Concert

Posted on: March 23rd 2017

The sun came out for us again on 15th March for the years 2-3 concert at St Andrew's Church.

We were treated to over an hour of performances on an impressive array of instruments including french horn, piano, guitar, clarinet, voice, violin and cello, and it was amazing to hear the talent emerging and to witness the poise and concentration of every single performer, both in their playing and in the children's own compositions.

Seeing the sea of happy faces singing in the sunlight during our school choir and years 2-3 performances I was struck by the feeling that memories are made of this, and very much hope that these concerts showcasing our children's talent, ambition, creativity and resilience will become a regular feature in our school calendar.

At the end of the concert I said goodbye to Mrs Spooner who was leaving the church with a guitar stool, music stand, guitar, music, two school bags and a radiant smile. A visual reminder if any was needed of the huge amount of support and good humour our parents put into these events. A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved- parents, grandparents, carers, teachers- it was a triumph of teamwork and a magical, memorable afternoon.
