Mr Irvine gives TED talk at London Business School

Posted on: May 5th 2016

Charles Irvine, one of our parents, was invited by the London Business School to give a TED talk as part of their Ctrl/Alt/Del TEDx Conference - his focus was "Conflict as a natural resource".  During his time as a peace monitor in South Africa at the height of Apartheid, Charles developed a belief that conflict has the potential to be our greatest natural resource.  Backed by his unique experiences, Charles gave a fascinating perspective into conflict and the power of good that can emerge from the unexpected.  London Business School are currently editing and uploading the talks from their conference and they will be available on youtube in the next two weeks.  Charles now uses his experiences of working with conflict to work with global organisations on their future strategies and how to engage their people effectively. He has also had fun teaching some of his techniques to the Form 6 children at Norfolk House earlier in the year as part of their interview preparations and who he says got to grips with things far quicker than many of the adult groups he works with.

Charles’ TEDxLBS Talk:  Conflict is a natural  resource from the Royal Geographical Society - Friday 29th April.

You can access the link here and scroll down to the bottom video. Charles’ talk is at 1hr41 on the video itself.
