Norfolk House Win Science Challenge

Posted on: May 17th 2013

On Thursday 14th March, four Year 5 students went on an exciting trip to Haileybury School for a science challenge. The team consisted of Jasmine, Laura, Dante and Euan.

The day was split up into three main topics; physics, chemistry and biology. The topic of the day was flight.

The physics tasks were to create a plane and a helicopter following instructions. The plane was tested on how long it stayed in the air and the helicopter on accuracy.

In chemistry we had to make a rocket launch and in biology we conducted an experiment on bird beaks. At the end was a small show about birds (with live birds).

Our efforts were rewarded when we found we had won physics. Finally the total results came in. We had won! All of us received a science book, a voucher, several certificates and a trophy for the school!
