This year, our chess team has continued with its great work. We have played six matches, winning against Hereward House, Lochinver House (twice) and winning both our Barnet League matches against St. Paul's and North London Collegiate Girls School. Our only defeat was against a very strong Highgate team.

“I played in the London Junior Chess Championships and qualified for the under 10 Minor UK Final. On the 11
th and 12
th of December I played 7 games and won 3 out of 4 on Saturday and 1 out of 3 on Sunday. I came 28
th out of 82 players. The highlight was when my opponent byed and I had to fight for a win against an under 14 major finalist and won the victory. Sadly, I missed out by half a point from getting to the under 12 final.”
