This week we had our second set of innovative Parent Workshops. Seven academic areas were focused on and 85 parents signed up to attend. The aim of the workshops was to support the parents and ensure greater collaboration between home and school. The workshops offered were:
Since parents and teachers were at school, education has changed dramatically. These workshops allowed for the practical and theoretical understanding of how we work at Norfolk House School in this era of education. The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive and gave real insight into the importance of these workshops for developing communication between school and home.
Examples of some of the comments from parents were:
"So useful and essential as things have moved on significantly since we went to school."
"We need these classes to ensure continuity with home and school."
"Inspired to try a new way of thinking."
"It gave me the chance to rethink my approach with my children."
We look forward to continuing to build upon these successes for future workshops and welcome the feedback, both positive and developmental, that we receive.
