Pre-prep visit London to bring learning to life

Posted on: July 1st 2011

On Monday 13th June, Pre-Prep had the opportunity to consolidate their learning about London.

We started the morning with a flight on the London Eye where they were able to see many of the famous landmarks they had been discussing during the Geography lessons. This was followed by an enjoyable lunch in the park – we were very lucky with the weather.

The children then had an opportunity to go on a guided river cruise further consolidating their learning with a commentary about the history of many landmarks.

The children had a wonderful time and did our school proud with perfect behaviour and sensible questions and comments.

Whilst in London, the children used cameras to take pictures of many of these landmarks which they have been using in ICT lessons to create photo stories of London.

Please see below for some quotes from children about our trip:

“I enjoyed going on the London Eye because I had never been before.” By Pip Jordan“I enjoyed going on the London Eye because I had a lovely view.” By Marni Salem“I went on a boat and we saw Tower Bridge and a pirate ship and a war ship and saw lots of funny people (mimes).” By Thomas Mulvey
