Pupils throughout the school enjoy Royal Wedding activities

Posted on: May 13th 2011

Pre-prepPre-Prep had an exciting start to the term with the first two days dedicated to completing work relating to weddings in anticipation of the Royal Wedding. Many different activities were covered, from planning a wedding reception to designing a wedding dress. The children felt very regal in the crowns they made during art and they learnt how to make iced sugar roses to decorate their ‘wedding’ cupcakes. All in all it was a wonderful start to the term.

Form 4

Prior to the Royal Wedding, Form 4 had great fun planning their own weddings for an imaginary couple. They enjoyed designing dresses, creating menus, exploring venues and choosing bands.

Forms 5 & 6

Form 5 and 6 held a debate around the usefulness of the Monarchy and also whether the wedding would have a positive effect on the UK – looking at a range of points of view. The children also got into groups to work on the planning of a wedding from scratch. This involved the children considering a budget, clothing, cake, menus, venue, honeymoon, cars etc.
