Pupils work together in ‘Helter Skelter Challenge’

Posted on: March 9th 2012

On Friday 2nd March, Andreas Sophocli, Henry Gibson, Leona Fenn and Molly Hedges from Form 5 visited Belmont School for an afternoon of D&T.

Eight teams from various North London schools participated in the ‘Helter Skelter Challenge’.

Children had an hour to design and make a helter skelter structure that would allow a small ball bearing to travel down it at the slowest pace possible.  There were bonus points available for setting off a buzzer with the ball bearing when it reached the end of its journey.

This was a particularly hard challenge and all children involved worked very well with their teams to overcome difficulties encountered along the way.

I am pleased to report that the Norfolk House team won the challenge and made us very proud indeed!  Well done!
