The Reception children have really enjoyed learning about lots of different countries this half term.
They have learnt about some cultural differences, cultural dress, listened to music from other places, made national flags and explored some different languages.
Reception’s Going Places unit culminated on Tuesday 29th May in a very special Going Places Focus Day. The children were invited to dress in clothes from another country and bring in cultural artefacts and food from another place.
They had a fantastic time looking at their family trees and mapping all the different places they’re from. They danced to South African music provided by Alara, and FEASTED on all the delicious food provided by the amazing parent body!
The teachers were overwhelmed at the level of participation from the children’s families and would like to extend a very sincere thanks for all their help with this wonderful day.
The children enjoyed themselves immensely. It has been a real pleasure to see their knowledge and understanding of the world blossom this term.
