On Tuesday 8th March Reception visited Kew Gardens as part of our ‘Spring’ topic. Luckily the weather was really pleasant so the children were able to enjoy a beautiful spring day. First the children took a trip into the jungle and climbed up to view it from the balcony. We then visited the famous ‘Princess of Wales Conservatory’ and the children had a chance to see the incredible orchid exhibition, which resulted in lots of awe and wonder. We were very lucky to see this as it was only available to see for a limited time. Finally the children had a chance to explore the nature themed play area and climb the tree top walkway.
Here are some of the children’s favourite parts of the trip.
Isabella L: “I liked the treetop walkway and seeing all the beautiful flowers”
Ava: “I liked the tree top walkway because it was high. It was lovely. Lovely Kew Gardens!”
Essie: “I likes the flowers. I liked the purple ones best.”
Mattieu: “I liked the jungle when we climbed up high!”
Sebastian: “I liked the treetop walkway because it was so high”
Freddie: “I liked seeing the fish”
Sam W: “I loved the flowers. It was all so nice. I didn’t know where to look first!”
