Reception’s first fortnight

Posted on: September 25th 2017

Reception have had a fantastic time settling into life at Norfolk House. They are now enjoying being in school full time and have had their first Forest School session, where we made butterfly pictures and climbed lots of trees. Throughout the first two weeks the children have participated in a range of maths and literacy activities. These include writing their names, learning new sounds and matching a numeral with the quantity. The children have also been enjoying the garden and have been preparing the flower beds for the new crops. We are really impressed with how the children have settled into school life and they have been a pleasure to have in the classroom. We look forward to our year together and learning lots of new things. Here are some of the activities the children have been enjoying.

Willow R: "I have enjoyed playing with the blocks and playing in the home corner. I have enjoyed cutting and gluing and making pictures."

Charlie R: "I enjoyed going to Highgate Woods and going on the yellow bus! I like the activities."

Elliot G: "I like playing with my new friends. I really liked Highgate Woods and climbing on the branches."

Lydia P: "I like playing with the lego and playing with the my friends."

Leela D: "I have loved playing in the reading tent."

Iris W: "I like playing with the train tracks."

Marina P: "I love school, I love playing with the creatures in the sand pit."
