On Friday 10th June, Reception to Form 6 took part in our annual Sports Day event at Queenswood School. It was a fantastic day for children and adults alike with all participants taking part in numerous races and showing a great deal of sportsmanship in supporting their friends.
The day commenced with the 400m long distance race. The children showed great resilience and determination to cross the finish line and were cheered on by their younger house supporters. The egg and spoon (or potato and spoon) got off to a slow but steady start. The children were careful to keep their potato on their spoon and stay inside their lanes.
The parents were delighted to take part in the Space Hopper Race, the three legged race and the tug of war. Unfortunately the Staff and Form 6 children were beaten by the almighty strength of the parents. Well done to the Mums and Dads who took part in all the races and crossed the finishing line with smiles upon their faces! Never have I seen such determination between adults to win an event!
As sports day drew to an end, it was time to announce the winner. It was a narrow result with Clive taking 1st place with 285 points.
We also congratulate our best girl athlete on the day, Ava Rifat and best boy athlete Oliver Chan. Well done, both and thank you to the children and adults who made the day a great success!
