ISA Football

On Thursday 14th January seven of our Form 5 & 6 boys took part in the annual ISA 5-a-side football tournament. Despite the poor weather conditions and the Head of Football, Jack Osler, and other key players unable to attend because of exam commitments, our team pulled together and fought hard in their five group matches. Three of the matches were very close with us losing by one goal and we had a convincing 4-0 win in our penultimate match. A win in the fifth match would have secured us second place in the group and a place in the quarter finals; however, our final match was against the strongest team in the group and, despite excellent coaching from Mr. Holt, victory eluded us once again. All the boys demonstrated superb sportsmanship and remained resilient through the wind, rain and stiff competition. All the boys supported and encouraged each other and they were an absolute pleasure to work with during the tournament. We would like to recognise the team for their attitude and effort:

Netball

On Friday 22nd January, our Forms 4 and 6 girls played 2 matches against Maple Walk.

Norfolk House started the Form 6 match with a strong attack , leading the ball down to the goal, moving swiftly through the centre third. Our goal shooters kept on scoring from a range of distances. At the end of the quarter the score was 2-0 Norfolk house.

After half time, our defence gave a big come back intercepting and defending, stopping the ball from getting down to their goal. By half time, the score was 4-1. Both teams were exhausted.
Throughout the game Norfolk House School played as a team, helping each other and leading to open spaces on the court. By the 3rd Quarter the score was 7-1 Norfolk Houses defending was a lot stronger and the teams were still playing amazingly well. Over all the girls played strongly and as a team, everyone enjoyed it and the end result was 10-1 to Norfolk House. The teams shook hands and congratulated each other, both teams left with a smile on their faces. Thank you to Miss Howson and Mrs Cannon for umpiring and keeping score and to the parents for coming to support the children.
