On Monday 5th March 2018 most of the Form 6 boys and Michael P from Form 5 went to Rhodes Avenue to play a football match. We had a great time there. We played very well as a team and individually. Each one of us stuck in our positions and let nothing past us. With Ben C diving across the face of the goal in order to keep us in the game, we felt unstoppable. Meanwhile Christian C, Michael P and Alex T scored outstanding goals. These goals would not have been possible without Aaron M who assisted almost every goal scored for our team. At the back Rahul R, Zain S and I were like a brick wall, every time the ball came to Rahul’s or Zain's feet they would clear it away down the other end of the pitch or find a great pass instead. This resulted in a 7-7 draw, a good result for all the hard work we had put in.

Over the last few weeks we have been busy with multiple Cross Country events. First, we held our annual Inter-House Cross Country at Aldenham. The event was nearly postponed due to wet weather but we put on our spikes and wellies for a great afternoon of running. The Form 2s were first to step up to the start line and set the bar high with a highly competitive run. Sebastian C stormed home with a great time of 2.33. Next to race were the U9 girls, with a longer course than the Form 2s, it would be a real test of resilience. The girls showed great determination with Iselle R from Form 3 taking the lead in an impressive 5.25. The boys followed shortly after and much like the girls, they demonstrated great courage. Oscar sailed home in a fantastic time of 5.15. Finally the Senior Prep girls and boys completed a longer course which really tested their stamina. Tommy ran home in an remarkable time of 7.32 and Ava R in 9.10. Fantastic running from all children involved!
To follow our successful Inter-House Cross Country we hosted our Inter-Schools Cross Country. It was another bitter day at Aldenham and eight schools joined us for the event. I was really impressed with the enthusiasm and determination that the children of Norfolk House demonstrated. Norfolk House U9 girls finished 3rd out of all the schools, with Maple Walk taking the trophy. Hereward House finished in 1st place for the U9 and U11 boys. Finally Maple Walk won the U11 girls. Well done to Tommy who finished in an impressive 4th place in the U11 boys race.
Thank you to all the teachers and parents who helped support these events.
