Senior Prep Girls and Boys on the Football pitch

It has been another busy fortnight of Sport at Norfolk House. Last Friday, the Senior Prep girls played a Football match away, against the Gower school. It was a fantastic afternoon and the girls demonstrated ambition throughout the games.

The Form 5 girls won their first match 5-0 with both Lola and Maya scoring two goals each and Sophie scoring the fifth. They then went on the draw their second match. Form 6 lost their first match 1-0 but showed great resilience and went on to win their final match 3-0. India scored two goals and Sophie scored the final goal to take the win.

The girls all played exceptionally well and had a great afternoon out.

The Senior Prep boys also participated in a Football tournament, this week. Harris T, our pupil Head of Sport in Form 6, reports:

This week the Year 6 Boys participated in their first North London Football Tournament hosted by Lyndhurst Prep School. Each team played six short (10-minute) six-a-side matches, allowing all boys the chance to play in the tournament.

The first three games were warm-up matches. We met some challenging opposition, but our resilient spirit kept up. Although we lost these matches a special mention must go the backbone of our defence, Oscar F, who made some great tackles and to Leonard S, who was constantly challenged as our goalkeeper.

After some welcome halftime marshmallows, we had renewed energy to play the next three matches. They were hard fought and the team displayed great determination, ending the afternoon with a draw.

A special thank you from the boys must go to Mr Ashton whose enthusiastic encouragement on the sidelines kept us going through the afternoon.

A fantastic effort from all the boys who played.
