Following a lot of research into local charities and discussion as a committee, the School Council have voted for Ambitious about Autism to be the school’s charity for the next two years. Through our annual Form 6 project working with pupils at TreeHouse School, we already have excellent links with this charity. Ambitious about Autism is a charity which provides services for children and young people with autism. It also seeks to raise awareness and understanding of the condition, as well as campaigning for change to ensure the needs of people with autism are understood and met. The School Council have some exciting fundraising ideas in mind and will be in in touch in due course about these. As well as raising money for the charity, the School Council will also be organising opportunities for pupils to gain a better understanding of how autism affects people.
