What a fabulous week we had welcoming the Form 1 to 6 parents into school to take part in our Student Led Parent Conferences. We started last week with a buddy share where the children shared their learning with children from other year groups, practising explaining their learning before the event. We then started our conferences this week. It was wonderful to see so many excited children bringing their parents in to see what they have been doing all year. The children truly engaged with sharing what they are proud of, what they had learnt about themselves as a learner and even the challenges they had overcome. Lots of wonderful questions were overheard from parents asking children to explain why they chose certain pieces of work, what they had learnt from the lesson and how they were seeing such a difference from the start of the year to the end. The final part of the experience was when the parents wrote an evaluation of what they had learnt about their child and the child got to read it and take it home - lots of smiling faces! As staff at Norfolk House School, we are so proud of the children and how they are growing as reflective and resilient learners. It was a lovely way to end this half term. We hope you as parents enjoyed it!
