For the last few weeks the Infant Community have been working on colours. We have all been looking at yellow, red, green and blue and learning to recognise these colours along with pink, brown, orange, purple, white, grey and black. During group time the children have been looking for objects of the same colour, they have been spotting these colours around the classroom and finding an object that matches the colour they have been asked to find.
In the garden we have been playing with coloured hoops - we have been rolling them and chasing after them. We have also been playing a game as a group, jumping into different coloured hoops. This activity helps with social interaction and communication, as well as gross motor skills.
For our display, the children have been making rainbows, using dabbers and also finger painting, using their fine motor skills. They have also been doing lots of different activities that involve sorting and matching colours.
