Transition Evening: Moving into Key Stage 2

Posted on: July 7th 2014

On Thursday 26 June, we hosted our KS2 Transition Evening for the current Form 2 parents. As a school, we recognise the importance of ensuring a smooth transition from KS1 to KS2 and the purpose of the evening was to familiarise parents with the changes involved with the Form 3 timetable, curriculum and daily schedule.

Strategies were outlined which will address any issues that may arise in the Autumn term. These include staggering playtimes initially and a gradual introduction to the increase in homework.

Whilst parents enjoyed wine and canapés, Miss Clark introduced herself, we did a presentation on life in Form 3, Mr Ashton delivered a mini maths lesson explaining maths strategies and Mrs Ellison provided information regarding the English curriculum.

All in all, a most enjoyable and informative evening!
