Posted on: February 28th 2014

The children in each of the PrePrep classes worked together in groups to create beginnings, middles and ends to their Sleeping Beauty stories. Next, they collaborated to create class stories.

Read PPG’S story:

Once upon a time there lived a queen and a king. They wished for a baby and the wish came true. The king and queen invited all the fairies to the palace except one of them who was a bad fairy. The bad fairy burst into the castle as the last good fairy was going to give the princess her gift. The bad fairy was very angry and she cast a spell. She said, ‘On her sixteenth birthday she will prick her finger on a spinning wheel and she will sleep forever…’The queen felt very sad and worried but the last good fairy said that she could not break the spell but could change it. She will prick her finger on the spinning wheel but she won’t sleep forever she will only sleep for 100 years until a prince comes and breaks the spell by falling in love with her.

The king and queen made everyone burn all the spinning wheels in the kingdom.

On Sleeping Beauty’s sixteenth birthday she went to the castle and decided to open the door. She saw an old lady who was spinning with a spinning wheel. Sleeping Beauty thought it looked fun and she wanted to try.

The old lady gave her a chance to spin.

Sleeping Beauty pricked her finger on the spinning wheel. Then she fell into a deep sleep. The king and queen put Sleeping Beauty in bed. Then the good fairy came and did a spell on everybody to make them sleep for one hundred years. The horses and the king and queen were asleep.

One day a prince was wandering around the forest then he saw the palace. He had to cut the brambles to get to the castle. When he got to the castle he went in and he noticed everyone was asleep. So he said, ‘Wake up, wake up!’ but they carried on sleeping. He climbed the stairs and he finally reached the top where Sleeping Beauty lay asleep in her bed. The Prince thought she was one of the most beautiful girls he’d ever seen.

The Prince kissed Sleeping Beauty on the lips then her eyes slowly opened. One hundred years had passed and the bad fairies spell had been broken. The Prince and Sleeping Beauty got married. The King and the Queen prepared a big wedding feast and they all lived happily ever after.

Read PPP’S story:

Once upon a time there was a king and queen and there one wish was to have a baby. After many years they had a baby. They invited all the good fairies. Before the last fairy gave her present the bad fairy burst in. So she didn’t get an invitation sent to her. She was very angry that she had not been invited so she put a spell on the baby. ‘On her sixteenth birthday she will prick her finger and fall asleep forever!’The queen started to cry. The fairy who had not yet given her present flew to the queen’s side. She said, ‘Don’t cry my queen, I cannot undo the spell but I can change it. When the princess is sixteen she will prick her finger on a spinning wheel but she will not sleep forever, she will only sleep for one hundred years. But when a prince comes she will awaken.’The king and queen ordered all the spinning wheels to be burnt in the middle of the town so there will be no spinning wheels to prick her finger on.

The princess went wandering around the castle and she stopped near a door. ‘I wonder who is in there’ she said. She opened the door and she went inside and there was an old lady. When she tried to spin and she pricked her finger on the needle. She couldn’t say a word and she fell into a deep sleep. The king brought her up to the highest tower. The good fairy came and made everyone fall asleep.

A young prince was riding through the woods. He saw a big tower and wondered who lived there. The prince went in and saw everyone asleep. He saw a door so he opened the door and saw the princess. He kissed her on the cheek. She opened her eyes. The queen asked the cooks to prepare the best feast and the prince and princess got married and lived happily ever after.
