Year Two have had an amazing start to the year. The children have settled well into their new setting and look like they were never anywhere else.
We have been working hard to make sure our lessons are educational and fun. We have focused much of the first week on developing communication and collaboration skills, something vital for them as they work in different groups, with different people. We also worked on developing the value of ‘Being Caring’ throughout the week, encouraging children to be kind and supportive of all. Lessons such as the ‘Lego Challenge’ really supported this focus and encouraged children to think outside the box, have fun and learn with a range of friends
This week we have been extending children’s learning by focusing on secure routines, building up their independence and creating a growth mindset towards their work. As they become older, we are encouraging a more independent, positive approach to packing their bag, completing their homework and being organised. The children are beginning to respond well to the new challenges that we are setting in their new classes.
We cannot wait for the rest of the term and for your children to grow as the year progresses.
