As I reflect on the term gone, I recall the promises I made to all of you in my blog post at the beginning of the year. The children have settled. The children have eaten and slept. And the children have learned. My, how they have learned! It has been such a pleasure once again to watch our young learners bloom and grow with the guidance and support of our committed team at Princes Avenue.
Our Infant Community children have developed so much in the short time they have been with us. Watching them on Tuesday during our Movers and Shakers session and seeing how engaged and confident they have become was really heart-warming. We were delighted to have so many families join us for our special holiday celebration.
Our Nursery children positively shone during their Nativity production on Wednesday! Watching them confidently deliver their lines and sing their songs just showed how much they have developed in such a short time. In class as well they have been engaging in some quite challenging work and gaining independence and growing in confidence day by day.
In Reception, the levels that I’ve seen in the children’s independent work are simply amazing. So many children are already reading and writing at length and completing quite challenging maths activities as well. I’ve been very impressed with their focus and engagement this year.
In Form 1 the children have adopted the Core Values with enthusiasm and have been impressively insightful in their explanations and discussion of these this term. As the oldest children on our site, they perform their special ‘responsibilities’ with great alacrity and commitment each day.
As we depart for our Christmas holidays, I would like to let you know how proud I feel to have the opportunity to watch our wonderful children develop and grow day by day. I wish you all a really happy and restful break and hope that you are able to enjoy spending some precious time together with your families.
