Exciting new about history at Norfolk House!
To keep up with developments in the teaching of History, and after taking advice from the Historical Association, Norfolk House School will now follow a new history curriculum. With a focus on key historical skills as well as knowledge, pupils will learn, from Form 2 onwards, about different periods of history in chronological order. The curriculum for Pre-Prep, at the Princes Avenue site, will remain the same.
The hope is that pupils will leave Norfolk House School with a more developed appreciation of the past, as well as key skills to enable them to investigate history at a more advanced level in the future, if they so choose.
The Key Skills
1. Chronological Understanding
2. Use of Historical Terminology
3. Use of Sources (Both Primary and Secondary)
4. Interpretations of History
