21 members of Senior Choir went on a school trip to Matilda at the Cambridge Theatre on Wednesday. It was a wonderful experience and I was very pleased to be able to reward the choir for giving up their time week in week out to rehearse. Some members have been rehearsing with me for almost two years.
The choir has increased in size since tickets were booked and it was a shame not to be able to take them all- we will have to organise another trip soon as this one was very inspiring. When we arrived early at Bounds Green station the children spontaneously burst into song as we waited for parents and we had to explain to grateful commuters offering donations that they were not singing for money, they were singing for joy!
Here is a picture of some of the choir finding the best way to bide their time at the station. We will be performing a medley of songs from the show Matilda at the North London Festival on 17th May at St James's Church.
