School Council

Our school council is made up of two representatives from each year group in Key Stage 2 who are democratically elected by their peers. All children from Forms 3 - 6 can nominate themselves as candidates and are then required to present an election speech to their peers and staff, outlining their ideas for the year ahead and explaining why they think they would make a good Student Councillor. The responsibility of the school council is to work together to plan initiatives in order to raise money for a chosen charity. Early meetings focus on selecting our school charity of the year and identifying which initiatives to work on throughout the year. A Head Boy and Girl are also elected each year and these pupils also sit on the school council as part of their responsibility.

Recent school council initiatives have included: supporting the PPC (Positive Playground Committee) in creating items to be sold at the Christmas Fayre, working on the refreshment stand at the International Evening, organising a Dress Up Day.
