We want our pupils to be excited about lessons and fully engaged in all of school life. We strive to offer personalisation to our learning programmes; our pupils are involved in their own learning and our older children conference regularly with their teachers to set realistic learning targets. Self and peer evaluation of work are both well embedded in our curriculum and our pupils are always aware of what they need to do to achieve next steps, and are well supported in this.
From Form 4, pupils are encouraged to take on additional responsibilities in school, such as becoming a member of the School Council, whilst regular sports fixtures and competitions ensure that the children develop a healthy sense of competition as they move up the school.
Pupils in Senior Prep are also supported to develop their independence and leadership skills, through various activities and initiatives, such as Positive Playground Committee and Eco Club, as well as Team Building skills in General Studies. Residential Trips also help our older children to build their confidence, ahead of their move on to senior schools at 11+.
