Pre-Prep’s Day Out in London

Posted on: June 14th 2013

Pre-Prep had the most delightful trip into central London to consolidate their learning about The Great Fire of London and enhance their Geographical knowledge of London landmarks. We started the day with a discovery experience on the London Eye, where we had some well-informed guides highlighting many of the main attractions that were visible from 135m high. The children were very excited and enjoyed the experience, particularly intrigued by the fact that they could see Alexandra Palace from the top of the London Eye and yet we’d travelled over an hour to get there.

After a pleasant, sunny lunch in the park, we enjoyed a trip down the river Thames where many famous London landmarks were once again highlighted, with the all the children having the opportunity to take photographs of these landmarks to use in their ICT lessons, where they are creating photo stories promoting London to tourists.

After a very busy and exciting day we all returned to school exhausted; however, the children are ready and well informed for the half term ahead about their topic!
